On February 10, 2001 in Foley, Alabama,
Bubba Blackwell again soared into the record books by clearing 14 semi trucks.
Bubba decided to perform this record breaking feat for the fans in his home
town. To give back to the town he loves, Bubba gave a percentage of the
ticket sales and all the concession proceeds toward the development of the
Foley Kids Park.
This was a very exciting jump for Bubba. It was another fulfillment of a
dream and also the first time he had used a ski-ramp jump to get the required
speed to make the leap. He only had 300 feet of room to reach the correct
speed to make the jump. He began by jumping 6 trucks, then 9, each time
hitting the ramp at a higher speed. Then the moment of truth came when he
had all 14 trucks lined up side by side. He went for it and successfully
cleared all of them with room to spare.
The jump was also covered by The Learning Channel and appeared on the television
program, "Incredible Motorcycle Jumpers" on September 9, 2001.
